Note: The Ohio Travel Team, coaches, and staff are not participating in this year's Open Water Championships held on Thursday morning Aug 6th prior to pool registration. Ohio team registration and equipment handout begins at 2PM at the Forest Park Aquatics Center Registration Booth in shelter 5.  If any Ohio swimmer wants to participate in the Open Water event on Thursday morning, the Ohio Coordinator will process your entries. An Ohio USA Official will be on the premise to act as a technical liaison at the event. If you are traveling with the Travel Team - you are responsible for your own travel to the Open Water event, then you will join the travel team at Thursday's registration (2-3PM near the pool) prior to team pictures (3:15PM) >> This is the only condition in which a travel swimmer may join the travel team outside of the four Ohio pickup cities. Swimmers that have qualified for the Open Water Championships but have not qualified for pool events are members of TEAM OHIO and may travel with the team and obtain the equipment package. Since equipment packages are distributed during Thursday’s registration, Open Water participants will need to provide their own competition suit for the event.

About the Open Water venue

North of Noblesville resides Morse Reservoir. Morse offers an array of boating and recreational opportunities. The Southeast shore will be the site for the Open Water Events. The event will be an in-water start and beach finish. The actual start will be located just outside the South Harbour Club House. This course is an up and back course with turnarounds at various locations determined by the event distance. The course runs parallel to the west channel of reservoir and will utilize turnaround buoys and intermittent buoys to mark the course. There is a spectator area on the beach (please bring lawn chairs for seating) with club house and on street parking. Swimmers and spectators will have access to bathroom facilities. A professional timing and scoring company will facilitate accurate and timely results. Swimmers will be given electronic chips in their registration packets at the site to be worn during their races. The following distances will be swum by each age group:

10-unders - .5 mile
11-12's - 1 mile
13-14's - 1.5 miles
15-18's - 2.0 miles
