2008 Zone distribution,
We have posted the first draft of rosters for this year’s Ohio Zone Team that will compete at IUPUI on Aug 6-10th. Please review your name for accuracy as soon as you can. Verify you are listed, the spelling of your name, your USA ID, and team status (travel team, Open Water, bus pickup location, etc). These postings must be 100% accurate. Please take the time to review each posting so that you verify your name appears where it’s supposed to, and not where it’s not supposed to (for example, if you did not sign up for Open Water, then make sure your name does not appear on the Open Water roster). Any discrepancies could cause problems when we process your entries later.
If you notice any typo whatsoever, reply to this note as soon as you can.
IMPORTANT:
Due to the popularity of this year’s 25th Anniversary “Mega” meet, we have exceeded our estimations on the number of Ohio athletes that signed up for this meet. We have 221 registrations for this year’s team – by far the most we have ever had. The average Ohio Zone Team is 150. We also have 93 athletes wanting to travel on the team buses – 13 more than the 80 we had planned for. After speaking with the Hotel Director of Events at the Marriott East in Indianapolis, they are “warmly” confident they can make adjustments to handle the entire travel team and staff – but they were not able to guarantee this as yet. We will be working with their office on Monday to handle the extra size of our travel team & staff so we won’t have to reduce our travel team. The only thing we ask of you right now is if you have any rooms at the Marriott, Fairfield Inn, or La Quinta that you do not plan to use – do not give up those rooms yet. Rooms are a hot commodity in Indianapolis on this particular weekend. If you know for sure that you will not be using a room at the Marriott East location, please reply to this message and do not give up your room; we may transfer your unused room to the travel team to accommodate the large size of the squad this year.
Your first priority is to please verify all of the various rosters posted on the Ohio page are accurate. In the next couple of days, we will post all of your entries so you can verify those, as well. Then, we will post preliminary relay lineups. Thank you; more notes to follow as we get closer to the meet.
