AQUATIC FACILITY MANAGER

The City of Miamisburg, Ohio is accepting applications for the position of Aquatic Facility Manager.  The position is responsible for the overall operation and administration of the Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center. The outdoor facility includes a zero depth pool with eight lap lanes, tube slides, diving well, interactive water play area, lighted sand volleyball courts, and a sand play area and attracts over 55,000 visitors from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.  The facility hosts swim lessons, swim meets, workout classes, and private rentals.  This position reports directly to the Recreation Superintendent and performs a variety of routine and complex responsibilities overseeing facility, admissions and concessions operations, coordinating programs and events, maintaining safety and facility cleanliness, and supervision of approximately 115 seasonal staff, including a team of five Assistant Managers.   The position’s hours per week vary, depending upon the time of the season, but can include 40+ during peak times.  The position is responsible for significant pre and post season responsibilities which requires work throughout the year.  The work includes weekday, evenings, and weekends depending upon needs. 

The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D.; a minimum of two seasons experience as an Aquatic Manager or 3 seasons experience as an Aquatic Assistant Manager; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities; effective oral and written communication skills; proficient computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets; possess a valid Ohio driver’s license; obtain lifeguard certification within six months of appointment and Aquatic Facility Operator certification within one year of employment.  The 2008 wage rate for the position is $13.00 to $16.00 per hour DOQ.  Applications can be obtained from the City of Miamisburg Administration Office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 10 N.
