Black Oak Swim Club, a neighborhood pool in Centerville, providing a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment for swimming, tennis and other summer recreational activities for its members is seeking applicant’s for Pool Manager and Assistant Pool Manager positions. 

 

We are also seeking Red Cross Swimming Instructors: WSI preferred.

Ø      CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard certifications (preferred)

Ø      H.S. diploma or GED equivalent

Ø      Strong communication skills, including negotiation

Ø      Ability to direct, lead and inspire people

Ø      Familiarity with pool operating procedures, including working knowledge of electrical, plumbing and mechanical components

Ø      Basic financial acuity

Ø      Ability to understand issues, and develop and implement solutions

Ø      Must be able to begin working part-time (weekends, evenings) beginning in May, full-time beginning on or about June 1st, and conduct closing activities the week after Labor Day

 

Responsibilities of the Pool Manager and Assistant Pool Manager are as follows:

Ø      Perform pre-season opening, post-season closing and maintenance activities associated with the daily operation and security of the facility

Ø      Supervise BOSC staff (lifeguards, receptionists and food service personnel)

Ø      Ensure pool-operating rules and regulations are followed at all times

Ø      Collect & safeguard funds, maintain proper records & daily accounting information

Ø      Prepare and develop personnel schedule

Ø      Provide initial point of contact for BOSC member inquiries (member relations)

Ø      Notify BOSC board to issues raised during the operation of the Club

Ø      Determine and provide ongoing training and development of the BOSC staff, including conducting in-service sessions

Ø      Coordinate vendor purchases and deliveries

Ø      Operate within the established budget for the season

Ø      Support BOSC events (i.e. swim meets, club parties, member parties) by identifying needs and fulfilling them in alignment with BOSC policies

Ø      Conduct weekly staff and in-service meetings
