Clemson Swimming & Diving Team
Adds Three More Swimmers To 2004-05 Roster
Nov. 20, 2003
CLEMSON, SC - The Clemson swimming and diving program has signed three more athletes to the team for the 2004-05 season, as announced by head coach Chris Ip on Thursday. Peg Carter, Andrew Bergren and Mark Vahle join Sean Geary, Rachel McLaurin and Bethany Meeuwsen as newcomers on the Tiger squad for next season. Andrew Bergren will come to Clemson from Xenia, OH, where he was a conference, sectional and district champion in the 100 breast and the 200 IM, and finished second and fifth in the events, respectively, at the 2002 Ohio High School State Swimming & Diving Championships. While attending Wolfson High School in Florida in 2001, Bergren was the Florida 3A State Champion in the 200 IM and placed third in the 100 breast at the meet. He holds school records in both events at Beavercreek High School (Ohio) and Wolfson High School (Florida). He was a member of the Florida All-Star team for the 11-12, 13-14 and 15-16 age groups and was the Florida Male Swimmer of the Year for the 13-14 and 15-16 age groups.
