By
special request,
A poem I write.
It
kept me awake,
Most half of the night.
The
first of this group,
I wish to describe.
Sweet
lovely young Meredith,
So caring and alive.
Your
gifts they are many,
Both in the water and out.
I’ve
shared with you joys,
And seen you cry and shout.
The
greatest gift you gave,
Was your heart and soul.
The
team won’t be the same,
As on to college you role.
Let’s
not forget Lindsey,
So proud, and so strong.
A
talented swimmer,
I coached for not long.
Both
soccer and swimming,
At each you excel.
If
anyone doubts you, they can go to, oh well.
I’m
certain to States,
You could have attained.
If
swimming you chose,
And in one sport remained.
Of
what you have achieved,
You should be quite proud.
I
know I am impressed,
So I thank you out loud.
Now
on to the team lawyer,
Always making a deal.
But
when he’s in the water,
We know Greg’s for real.
Another
young athlete,
At two sports he trained.
Both
baseball and swimming,
He worked and he strained.
A
top in the State,
For year after year.
The
top of the podium,
Always so near.
Your
leadership and compassion,
Will be greatly lacking.
As
you move on to Clemson,
New records for cracking.
And
last but not least,
Our own lady Rebel (Sami).
It’s
off to Las Vegas,
So stay out of trouble.
Your
tops is the Breast Stroke,
Many challenges you have faced.
It
is your laughter I will miss,
As you move on from this place.
I
have watched you swim in practice,
One thousand miles maybe.
I’ll
always here your dad’s voice,
Saying, “Come on move it, baby”!
As
we each move on in our lives,
I wish for you the best.
Good
luck in your bright future,
