Ohio Junior Olympic Championships
July 19-22, 2007 - Miami University, Oxford (OH)

Sixty (6) Dayton Raiders qualified and competed at this summer's state "Junior Olympics".  The team captured the overall team title by scoring 2,353 points en route to the club's 3rd title since 2004 - the only program outside of Greater Cincinnati to do so since the sports inception in the early 1960's.  The 10-under boys, 11-12 boys, and 13-14 boys win the Age Group Awards. Tommy Brewer (10) earns "Outstanding Male Athlete of the Meet" award while netting 4 National "Top 16" reportable times.  Maddie Schaffer, 10, earned National "Top 16" times in every event she swam (9) while breaking two Ohio records (100-meter Back 1:16.61 and 100-meter Fly 1:11.97). The following Raiders haul in a whopping 21 Gold medals in individual events and relays: Jackson Higgins (10), Brett Mackenzie (13), Austin Gregory (14), Brandon Alt (14), Matt Brittinghamn (14) Josh Quallen (12), Andrew Cole (12), Tyler Fullington (12), Matthew Abeysinghe (11), Maddie Schaffer (10), Tommy Brewer (10), and Nathaniel Lowry (10).
