2008 Ohio Select Camp (50-mtr training session)

Dates: Girls’ and Boys’ camps will be held simultaneously at
Miami University, Oxford, Ohio on Saturday, April 26, 2008.
Eligibility: Swimmers ages 11-14 years old who participate in the Ohio Junior Olympic Championship Meet.
Selection: 40 athletes, 20 females and 20 males respectively, will be chosen to participate in this camp. 
USA Swimming’s IMX events will be used for selection.  The Top 2 finishers in each IMX event will be eligible for the camp.  In case a swimmer finishes in the Top 2 in multiple events, selection will go to the next eligible competitor (3^rd place, 4^th place, etc.) until those spots are filled.
Right of Refusal: Each athlete and their home coach have the right to refuse to attend the camp.
Curriculum: Sample topics for athletes include mental preparation, post race recovery, nutrition, race strategy, and race analysis.
Pool Training: This camp is intended to provide eligible athletes with the opportunity to learn and compete with other athletes of similar ability in a positive and safe environment.  All pool sessions will be long course.  This is a training camp, not a stroke camp.  Athletes will be expected to show up to camp physically prepared to compete at a high level.
Cost per Athlete: $25.00 - checks made payable to Ohio Swimming, Inc.
Deadline: All athletes must sign-up by April 21, 2008.

13-14 Year Old IMX Events: 500 Freestyle, 200 Backstroke, 200 Breaststroke, 200 Butterfly, and 400 IM
