The Dayton Raiders lost a dear friend and fellow teammate. Paul Jarnagin at age 15 was about spirit, faith, friendship, kindness, and love. Paul’s greatest accomplishment was his ability to show all of us the importance or treating others with respect, openness and love. We wanted to share with you a prayer that Paul prayed every day:
“Don’t you know? Haven’t you heard? The Lord is the everlasting God:
He created all the world. He never grows tired or weary.
No one understands His thoughts. He strengthens those who are weak and tired. Even those who are young grow weak; Young people can fall exhausted.
But those who trust in the Lord Will find their strength renewed.
They will rise on wings like eagles; They will run and not grow weary; They will walk and not grow weak.”
- Isaiah 40:28-31

Paul Jarnagin September 25, 1984 – January 3, 2000 God Bless You Paul!
Paul, we miss you. The memory of your smiling face, perfect hair and victory dances on the starting block will forever remain in our hearts.
The Raiders have renamed the fall Invitational Meet in Paul’s honor. It will forever be called the “Paul Jarnagin Fall Invitational”.
Additionally, coaches, swimmers and parents will honor a Dayton Raider swimmer each year with an award for the swimmer who embodies the loving spirit that was Paul.
