Representative” form included with this meet packet. It is not necessary to
send a hardcopy of your team’s entries if you are sending your Hy-Tek entry
file by e-mail. However, the host entry chair may request a copy from your
club if there are errors or typos in your team’s entry file. If you do
not have the ability to send an electronic entry file: Teams of 0-10 or
more swimmers that are not submitted in electronic format will be assessed
no processing fee; 11-n swimmers, $1.50 per swimmer.
Entry Limit:
Swimmers will be
limited to five (5) individual events per day plus one (1) relays per
session. All entries are to be submitted in short course yards (no meters or
conversions, please). This meet will be limited to the first 500 swimmers.
The OPEN 400 IM, 500 Free and OPEN 1000 Free may be limited to the top 24 or
32 swimmers
positively checked in by the deadline announced on the days those events are
offered. If the timeline allows for additional heats, additional heats will
be swum. If necessary the meet director reserves the right to limit
participation in other selected events, or adjusting the "maximum number of
events per session", in order to maintain a meet of
reasonable time duration. Clubs may check with the entry chairperson on
Wed Oct 25th, 2006 to determine if entries will be limited. If
requested, fees will be refunded at the meet if swimmers are not able to
compete for this reason.
Website:
Please visit the
team website at
www.daytonraiders.com for meet information, psych sheets, final results,
and downloadable electronic files once the meet is concluded. The host
entry chair reserves the right to allow changes and/or updates to team
entries after the psych sheets are posed and before the heat sheet is sent
for printing.
E-mail:
On the “Team
Summary” Form included in this packet, please include any and all e-mail
addresses you would like to use for communication. Once the deadline has
passed and your team’s entries have been processed, they will be posted to
the website and an e-mail will be sent indicating entries are available for
you to review. It may be possible to add entries or fix any typos prior to
the heat sheet being sent to the printers if a visiting club responds in a
reasonable timeframe. Entry changes may be allowed, but swimmers cannot be
deleted after the deadline; no-shows will not be refunded.
Rules:
The meet will be
conducted under the rules of United States Swimming (USS) and Ohio Swimming.
All participating swimmers, officials and coaches on deck must be members in
good standing of USS. No swimmer will be allowed to compete unless he/she is
a member of USS or can provide proof that he/she has submitted membership
papers and payment to USS. All officials and coaches must display 2006 or
2007 USS membership card while on deck. All workers on the deck must
wear identification tags. All persons wishing to photograph or videotape
events from the deck must obtain an identification tag from the meet
director. Whistling is not permitted in the natatorium.
Warmup Procedures:
Warm-up times
will be announced once all entries are received and a timeline has been
established. By default, USA-Swimming and Ohio LSC swimming safety
guidelines and warm-up procedures will be in effect at this meet. However,
if the coaches and Meet Referee agree, a "control-your-own-lane" Warm-up
procedure may override the default format. The default Warm-up shall be
conducted as follows:
Check-In:
Check-in
required for all events that are 400 yards or greater. All other events
will be pre-seeded.
Deck Entries:
Deck entries
will be permitted only at the discretion of the Meet Director, Dayton Raider
Head Coach, Scoring Chairperson, and Entry Chairperson for a $5 per event
fee. If a swimmer is not previously entered in the meet, then the swimmer
must show proof of registration for the current season and pay the
applicable $2 Ohio Swimming surcharge in addition to any event fees.
Clerk-of-Course:
There will be no
clerk-of course during the afternoon session. There will be an event call.
There will be a “Bullpen” and event call during the morning session (for 8 &
Under swimmers only, unless the coaches mutually agree to not use this
procedure). Swimmers 8 & Under swimmers must report to the “Bullpen” when
their event is called. Swimmers 9 and up should report directly to the
starting blocks for their events. Any swimmer, morning or afternoon
session that leaves the pool area is responsible for returning to the pool
area for their event.
Awards and Scoring:
This meet is an
age group format meet. Ribbons will be awarded for first thru sixteenth
place (1st thru 3rd for relays). Heat Ribbons will be
given in all 12 & Under age groups. In addition, a High Point
Award will be presented to the swimmer who compiles the most points in
their age group for the 6-Un, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and OPEN age groups (points earned
in another age division do not count towards High Point Awards but do count
towards team scoring and individual placing for awards. Ex: An 8-Un
swimmer cannot use points earned in the 10-Un events for high point
scoring. For the 13-14 age group, points earned in the OPEN 400 IM and OPEN
1000 Free will count towards individual High Point Awards. Team scoring
will follow standard USA rules for an 8-lane pool and scoring for relays
will include a maximum of an A and B relay only, however all relays will be
subject to awards. Special award for the winner of the Men and Women 100
backstroke in remembrance of our friend and former Dayton Raider Swimmer,
Paul Jarnagin, and his favorite event was the 100 backstroke.
Swimmer Conduct:
All swimmers are
expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. It is the
responsibility of all parents to ensure all minor spectators are well
behaved and under supervision at all times. Any swimmer or minor spectator
acting in an inappropriate manner will be reported to their coach or parent
for disciplinary action which may include removal from the meet and
facility. Any swimmer or spectator caught damaging or defacing property
will be banned from the meet and appropriate remedies for damages will be
pursued.

By school policy, no food and drink will be allowed in the pool area (including the bleachers and spectator “common” area). The cafeteria will be open on Saturday and Sunday (not Friday) as well as a swimming vendor will be on site. Hospitality for coaches and workers will be available. Plentiful parking is available in the rear of the high school grounds, adjacent to the football stadium. The natatorium is handicap accessible.
