Meet: Ohio Junior Olympic Championships

Maximum Events: Swimmers can enter a maximum of seven (7) individual events for the meet and up to three (3) individual events per day plus relays.
Special Note: if you have more than the maximum 7 individual qualifying times for this meet, ask you coach which events to "remove" from your lineup.
Qualifying for this meet: To enter this meet in individual events, swimmers must have achieved a JO cut in either 2009 short course or 2008 long course since 1/1/07. Visit the Raider Top Times Reports homepage and view both reports (short course yards and long course meters) to see if you have cuts in individual events.  Remember - you can qualify for this meet if you have a cut in either season! Relay qualifiers will be announced in the weeks leading up to the meet.
Entry Rules: Only long course meter times or short course yard times since Jan 1st of the previous year may be used (1/1/06).  Age on the first day will determine which age group the swimmer will enter.  Event fee for individual events are $5 per event plus a $2 one-time swimmer surcharge: $1 of the surcharge goes into the Ohio Travel Fund to help reimburse Ohio athletes traveling to national meets, the other $1 goes towards the Site Selection Fund to help offset funds used to rent pools for meets.
Meet Format: This is a prelim/final championship meet.  All events on Thursday are timed finals (swum once). The top 16 swimmers in each individual event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will compete at finals each evening. The 13-14 1500 Free, 10-Un 200 Free, and 11-12 400 Free will only be swum once, along with all relays.  The fastest 8 seeded relays on Friday and Saturday will be swum at finals. All relays 9th and slower will be swum during the preliminaries. All relays on Sunday will be swum during the prelims.  Failure to show at finals, unless the coach signs a scratch form during preliminaries, will result in the swimmer being barred from his/her next events. Failure to show at finals on Sunday will result in a $25 fine.
Time Trials: Offered each day following prelims
Directions: From Dayton:    Take I-75 south to Rt. 73 west.  Take left on Patterson Street; right on Spring Street; left on Oak Street.  Facility is on right. Approximate driving time:  1 hour, 15 minutes.
