Purpose: The Dayton Raider Swim Club (DR) cannot operate on monthly dues alone. The club assesses $500 per family ($170 for session families) at the beginning of the short course season in order to continue with stable and financially sound management as well as provide the membership with another alternative to offsetting the cost of membership. The $500 ($170 for session families) obligation is listed as “miscellaneous” on the monthly bill and is verbally referred to as “fundraising assessment.” Each family has the option of participating in fundraising activities or simply paying the assessment. $500 ($170 for session families) will appear on your bill to start the year. Each month, the amount of fundraising that you earn will be deducted from fundraising balance on your monthly statement. On May 30, or at the end of the session for session-only swimmers, if you have fundraised only a portion of the assessment, any remaining balance is owed. All Dayton Raiders fundraising activities are credited 100% of the amount raised.
IMPORTANT BONUS: When the assessment is paid, all future fundraising earnings will be credited 50% towards your bill. Many families continue to participate in fundraising activities after their assessment is met to offset their monthly bills.
Goal: To provide as many opportunities as possible in which families can offset their fundraising assessment. Also, to provide much needed additional income for the operation of an elite club.

For those who are not interested in sales such as ads for home meet programs, you may participate in fundraisers through personal use/purchases. Pre-purchasing your groceries from Kroger/Meijer is a great way to earn credit monthly towards your assessment. The SCRIP Program, which was started in 2003, looks to be the easiest and most effective way to offset your assessment as well as your fees throughout the year. Reports from Raider families indicate that paying off entire seasons worth of bills is possible. Other opportunities can be an advantage for your family if you purchase items for personal use or gifts. Watch the DR website for new fundraising opportunities.
